FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often should I sealcoat my driveway?

This will depend to some extent on the amount of traffic and the type of weather your driveway is exposed to. After a new install, you should sealcoat your driveway no sooner than one year but between 1 to 3 years or when it begins to look “dry.”

Is crack filling important?

Crack filling or sealing is important. By taking care of small cracks shortly after they form, you prevent water from entering into the pavement and causing further damage, like potholes.

We do not personally offer crack filling services but we have many reputable partners that we work with. Call us today!

How long will my asphalt pad last?

If laid correctly and maintained properly, an asphalt pad can have a life expectancy of up to 20 years.

Why is site prep important?

A structurally sound sub-layer beneath any surface material is critical. Any shifting or movement will translate into cracks or fissures in any type of top layer material.

How soon can I park my car on a new driveway?

A new asphalt surface can take up to 30 days to fully cure depending on temperature variations. However, you should be able to drive on the surface if careful after two or three days.

How does weather affect asphalt and concrete?

Asphalt shrinks and expands with temperature changes; concrete tends to crack under extreme pressures or movement resulting from expansion or contraction.

Can asphalt be repaired?

Yes, cracks or holes can be easily filled or sealed. Flaws in concrete may require expensive repairs, and patching is more visually obvious.
